“The Paper Crowns have this aura of honesty in their music that’s genuine, easy to grasp, yet also not a complete giveaway,” said Waleed Rashidi of IE Weekly.

Bounty & Soul, a nonprofit hunger relief organization that serves Buncombe and McDowell counties, will host its third annual VegOut fundraiser at Pisgah Brewing Co. from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, June 9. Tickets are $10 at the door and free for kids 12 and under.

Presented by Native Kitchen and Social Pub, this family-friendly event is an opportunity for the community to enjoy live local music, a silent auction and local food and beverages while supporting Bounty & Soul in its fight against food insecurity and in its promotion of health education.

Featured bands include The Paper Crowns, Chalwa, and The Campfire Reverends. There will also be a variety of kids activities including face-painting, a bounce house and the LEAF Easel Rider. The Yoga Service Movement will lead the yoga.

Pisgah Brewing will donate funds from “Pisgah Pints,” and guests will have the opportunity to tour the brewery throughout the afternoon. Farm to Fender food truck will be onsite to provide locally sourced foods; a portion of its proceeds will go to Bounty & Soul.

Through its five weekly mobile markets, Bounty & Soul provides clients with fresh, healthy foods; nutrition education; and health and wellness resources.
