May 3 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.
Incidents
Larceny was reported on April 19 on the 500 block of N.C. 9.
Possible rabies exposure was reported on April 19 on the 300 block of Genesis Circle.
Counterfeiting was reported on April 19 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.
Larceny of a motor vehicle was reported on April 20 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.
Damage to property was reported on April 21 on the first block of Fuse Drive.
Assault on a female and assault with a minor present were reported on April 24 on the first block of Goldmont Street.
Larceny from a motor vehicle, burglary-forcible entry and fraud were reported on April 25 on the 100 block of Montreat Road.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on April 25 on the 500 block of N.C. 9.
Vandalism was reported on April 26 on the 400 block of East State Street.
Arrests
Ashley Rene Black, 30, of Old Fort, was arrested on April 14 on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Robert Kyle Carter, 41, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the first block of Kappa Loop on April 14 and charged with second-degree kidnapping, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance; assault on a female; possession with intent to sell, manufacture or distribute methamphetamine and assault on a female.
Zacharia Thomas Penland, 18, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 200 block of McCoy Cove Road on April 14 and charged with possession of marijuana greater than half an ounce to one-and-a-half ounces.
J'Nae Alexandria Lyle, 26, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the first block of Woodcock Street on April 16 and charged with simple assault.
Billy Ray Ricketts, Jr, 56, of Black Mountain, was arrested on April 18 at the intersection of Cherry Street and Sutton Avenue and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting public officers.
Jerry Alvin Jones, Jr, 36, of Black Mountain, was arrested on April 19 on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with shoplifting.
Jesse Nathaniel Crump, 25, of Gastonia, was arrested on April 20 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 64 and charged with possession methamphetamine.
Mark J. Trewella, 33, of Black Mountain, was arrested on April 20 on the first block of Bartlett Avenue and charged with two counts of felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distributed a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
