March 22 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.
An animal bite was reported on March 8 on the 900 block of N.C. 9.
Larceny from buildings was reported on March 9 on the first block of Woodcock Street.
A misdemeanor drug offense was reported on March 9 on the 100 block of Lake Eden Road.
Larceny from buildings was reported on March 10 on the first block of Temple Road.
Shoplifting was reported on March 11 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.
Uttering a forged instrument was reported on March 12 on the 600 block of West State Street.
An animal bite was reported on March 12 on the 2900 block of N.C. 9.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on March 13 on the 200 block of Summer Haven Road.
Fraud was reported on March 14 on the 300 block of West State Street.
Fraud was reported on the 200 block of Tabernacle Road.
Brandon Rachawn McCree, 31, of Candler, was arrested on March 5 on the first block of Thicket Lane and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, reckless driving with wanton disregard of the rights or safety of others and hit and run - leaving the scene.
William Hudson Barber, 52, of Black Mountain, was arrested on March 8 on N.C. 9 at the ext 64 off ramp and charged with driving while impaired and failing to burn headlamps.
Jerry Alvin Jones, Jr., 36, of Asheville, was arrested on March 9 on Cherry Street and charged with being intoxicated and disruptive and having an open container on city or county property.
