Feb. 15 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.
Incidents
Credit card or ATM card fraud was reported at an unknown location in Black Mountain on Feb. 1.
Felony drug offense was reported on Feb. 1 on the 100 block of Burgins Chapel Road.
Felony breaking or entering-no force was reported on the 100 block of Old Patton Cove Road.
Defrauding an innkeeper was reported on Feb. 2 on the 400 block of East State Street.
Fraud was reported in Black Mountain on Feb. 3
Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia were reported on Feb. 3 on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70 East.
Possession of a firearm by a felon was reported on Feb. 4 on the 2000 block of U.S. 70.
Two counts of larceny were reported on Feb. 4 on the 100 block of Vance Avenue.
Cruelty to animals was reported on Feb. 5 on the 100 block of Tanglewood Drive.
Stalking was reported on Feb. 5 on the 700 block of Old U.S. 70.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on Feb. 5 on the 300 block of Lytle Cove Road.
A misdemeanor drug offense was reported on Feb. 5 on the 100 block of Lake Eden Road.
Larceny of mail was reported on Feb. 6 on Amy's Way.
An animal bite was reported on Feb. 6 on the 100 block of Black Bear Trail.
Found medication was reported on Feb. 7 on the 300 block of South Laurel Circle.
Criminal damage to property and trespassing were reported on Feb. 7 on the first block of Vance Avenue.
Driving while intoxicated was reported on Feb. 8 on the 1900 block of U.S. 70.
Arrests
Thomas Mark Richard Hughey, 21, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Jan. 27 on the first block of Alpine Shadow Lane and charged with assault on a female.
Daniel Diaz Lopez, 28, of Winston Salem, was arrested on Jan. 27 on the 200 block of N.C. 9 and charged with driving while impaired.
Erick Salvador Hernandez, 27, of Winston Salem, was arrested on Jan. 27 on the 200 block of N.C. 9 and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Bud Wiliam Norton, 26, of Asheville, was arrested on Jan. 29 on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 65 and charged with possession of methamphetamine, posession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, unlawfully passing an emergency vehicle, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and driving without an operators license.
Semia Lorien Ostrover, 46, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Jan. 29 on the first block of Aqua Drive for a fugitive warrant.
Misty Dawn Curry, 24, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Jan. 30 on the 100 block of Vance Avenue and charged with financial card fraud.
James Anthony Harris, 47, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Feb. 2 on N.C. 9 and charged with driving while impaired and assault on a government official.
