Feb. 8 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.
Incidents
Contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile was reported on Jan. 25 on the 200 block of McCoy Cove Road.
Damage to real property was reported on Jan. 25 on the first block of Peridot Point.
Larceny was reported on Jan. 25 on the 200 block of Tabernacle Road.
Fraud was reported on Jan. 26 on the 100 block of Richard Lane.
Possession of drug paraphernalia was reported on Jan. 26 on the 2000 block of U.S. 70.
Misdemeanor breaking or entering-no force was reported on Jan. 26 on the 100 block of Bee Tree Road.
Larceny was reported on Jan. 27 on the first block of Aqua Drive.
Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance was reported on Jan. 27 on the 200 block of N.C. 9.
Driving while intoxicated was reported on Jan. 28 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.
Larceny of a wallet, financial card fraud and financial card theft were reported on Jan. 29 on the first block of Vance Avenue.
Possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and drug violations were reported on Jan. 29 at mile 65.5 eastbound on I-40.
Misdemeanor breaking or entering was reported on Jan. 31 at the public restrooms on Cherry Street.
Criminal damage to property was reported on Jan. 31 on Chapel Road.
A felony drug offense was reported on Feb. 1 on the 100 block of Burgins Chapel Road.
Arrests
Samantha Nicole Parton, 23, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Jan. 20 on the first block of Alpine Shadow Lane and charged with simple assault.
Jerry Alvin Jones, Jr., 36, of Asheville, was arrested on Jan. 20 on I-40 westbound at mile 64.5 and charged with second-degree trespassing.
Jeffrey Allen Wright, 40, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Jan. 22 on the 600 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with six counts of possession of a firearm by a felon; having a fictitious or altered registration card or tag; failure to stop at a stop sign or red light; maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; trafficking in methamphetamine; possession with intent to sell, manufacture or distribute methamphetamine; possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.
Jeffrey Dean Brigman, 43, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Jan. 22 on the 200 block of McCoy Cove Road and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
