Jan. 25 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Larceny from a motor vehicle and breaking and entering were reported on Jan. 11 on the first block of Byrd Road. 

Larceny was reported on Jan. 12 on the 100 block of WNC Shopping Center Drive. 

A felony drug offense was reported on Jan. 12 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70. 

A misdemeanor drug offense was reported on Jan. 12 on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70 East. 

Damage to personal property was reported on Jan. 12 on the 100 block of Grey Rock Valley. 

Fraud - obtaining money or property under false pretense was reported on Jan. 13 on the 400 block of East State Street. 

Larceny was reported on Jan. 13 on the 100 block of Candlelight Drive. 

An animal bite was reported on Jan. 13 on the 100 block of Azalea Avenue. 

Damage to personal property was reported on Jan. 15 on the first block of Shumate Road. 

Felony breaking or entering was reported on Jan. 16 on the 100 block of Summer Street. 

Larceny of a tag was reported on Jan. 16 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70. 

Crime

Arrests

Natasha Annette Tucker, 35, of Asheville, was arrested on Jan. 6 on the 100 block of Cherry Street and charged with resisting public officers.

Kevin Joseph Short, 42, of Fairview, was arrested on the 3100 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired.
