OHS Class of '51 gets together

The 1951 graduating class of Black Mountain High School gathered on Oct. 7 to celebrate the 66th year reunion since its high school graduation.

Class member Robert Goodson was host for the event held at The Homeplace on North Fork Road. Class president Sherwood Mull presided in the sharing of information regarding absent class members.  Honorary class member Elaine Godfrey was the photographer for the event.

Members present were Ruth Bartlett Taylor, Thelma Brooks Luciana, Hazel Bartlett Burnett, Helen Candler Brown, Robert Goodson, Sherwood Mull, Barbara Wade Godfrey, Bob Glenn and Ruth Watkins Norton.

The handcrafted mascot was done by the late Joan Goodson and named Lee Roy. Lee Roy has attended the class reunions for many years.

The event was catered by Phil's Bar B Qin   Black M ountain .
