Sept. 28 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Sept. 14

Fraud - obtaining money/property by false pretense - was reported on the first block of Vance Avenue. 

Sept. 15

Damage to property was reported on the the 200 block Ruby Avenue. 

Sept. 16

Breaking or entering was reported on the 100 block of Delova Lane. 

Damage to real property was reported on the 2300 block of U.S. 70. 

Conspiracy to possess a Schedule IV controlled substance was reported on the 300 block of Charles Court. 

Sept. 17

Breaking and entering, larceny of a firearm and larceny of money were reported on the 400 block of Blue Ridge Road. 

Sept. 18

Felony drug offense was reported on the 100 block of Martin Road. 

An animal bite was reported on the 2300 block of U.S. 70. 

Sept. 19

Simple assault was reported on the 100 block of Flat Creek Road. 

Sept. 20

Breaking and entering and larceny were reported on the 2900 block of U.S. 70. 

Arrests 

Sept. 9

Jennifer Lynn Garrett, 44, of Asheville, was arrested on the 1500 block of North Fork Road and charged with driving while impaired. 

Sept. 11

Ashley Camile Ammons, 30, of Asheville, was arrested at exit 65 on I-40 eastbound and charged with two counts of assault on a government official and resisting public officers. 

Michael Eugene Grutzius, 33, of Old Fort, was arrested at exit 65 on I-40 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen goods and operating a vehicle without a license.

Sept. 13

Stephen Drake Jones, 26, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 300 block of Montreat Road and charged with assault on a female and assault on a child under the age of 12.
