Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests as of Sept. 14

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Sept. 7

Possession of methamphetamine and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance was reported at the intersection of Penelope Street and West Keesler Avenue. 

Sept. 8

Larceny was reported on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70.

Larceny of a motor vehicle was reported on the 2300 block of U.S. 70. 

Aggravated assault was reported on I-40 at exit 65. 

Larceny was reported on N.C. 9 at the I-40 westbound on ramp. 

Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance; possession of methamphetamine; maintaining a dwelling for the use, storage or sale of a controlled substance; driving with license revoked and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported at the intersection of U.S. 70 and Dunsmore Road.

Sept. 10

Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, driving with a fictitious plate and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported on the N.C. 9 near the I-40 eastbound off ramp. 

Shoplifting was reported on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of Schedule VI controlled substance were reported at the intersection of U.S. 70 and Bright Hope Road. 

Sept. 11

Larceny from motor vehicle was reported on the 2200 block of U.S. 70

Larceny was reported on the 200 block of Central Avenue. 

Sept. 13

Motor vehicle theft was reported on the 100 block of Ridgeway Avenue. 

Sept. 14

Fraud was reported on the first block of Vance Avenue. 

Crime

Arrests 

Sept. 2

Kendra Page Callahan, 29, of Bakersville, was arrested at the intersection of West Street and Honeycutt and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession marijuana paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. 

Cathy Jo Wiseman, 31, of Spruce Pine, was arrested on the 200 block of East State Street and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Sept. 3

Jerry Alvin Jones, Jr., 36, of Asheville, was arrested on the 200 block of N.C. 9 and charged with being intoxicated and disruptive.

Marlon Lemohn Harrison, 32, of Old Fort, was arrested on the 2800 block of U.S. 70 and charged with resisting public officers and attempted breaking and entering. 

Sept. 4

Matthew Michael Kotarba, 30, of Black Mountain, was arrested on on I-40 eastbound at N.C. 9 and charged with driving while impaired. 

Sept. 6

Brad Dylan Taylor, 36, of Asheville, was arrested on Penelope Street and charged with possession of methamphetamine and simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. 

Sept. 7

Nicole Leah Thompson, 45, of Candler, was arrested at the intersection of Access Road and Blue Ridge Road and charged with driving with license revoked - impaired and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. 

Sept. 8

Richard Joseph Chandler, 37, of Black Mountain, was arrested U.S. 70 at I-40 exit 66 and charged with driving with license revoked - not impaired, maintaining vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, distribute or sell a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
