Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests as of Sept. 7

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Aug. 31

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 800 block of Warren Wilson Road. 

An animal bite was reported on the 200 block of Alexander Avenue. 

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 100 block of Wray Avenue. 

Sept. 1

Burglary and larceny after breaking and entering were reported on the 100 block of South Park Lane. 

Sept. 2

Larceny was reported on the 2300 block of U.S. 70. 

Domestic violence was reported on the 600 block of Padgettown Road. 

Larceny from a building and forcible entry were reported on the first block of Terry Estates Drive. 

Two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported on the 200 block of East State Street. 

Burglary - non-forced entry was reported on the 100 block of Montreat Road. 

Sept. 3

Motor vehicle theft was reported on the 300 block of Flat Creek Road. 

Felony fleeing and eluding arrest was reported on the Old U.S. 70 West. 

Sept. 4

Criminal damage to property (vandalism) was reported on the 100 block of Carver Avenue. 

Larceny from buildings was reported on the first block of Terry Estates Drive. 

Damage to personal property was reported on the 100 block of Carver Avenue. 

Sept. 5

Larceny was reported on Alpine Lane. 

Sept. 7

Possession of methamphetamine and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance were reported at the intersection of Penelope Street and West Keesler Avenue. 

Arrests 

Aug. 26

Alivia Erin Justice, 23, of Candler, was arrested on the 400 block of Blue Ridge Road and charged with driving with license revoked - not impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Aug. 28

Allen Keith Effler, 35, of Old Fort, was arrested on the 600 block of N.C. 9 and charged with possession of methamphetamine. 

Aug. 29

Misty Dawn Curry, 23, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 100 block of Vance Avenue and charged with assault on a handicapped person. 

Aug. 30

David Scott Blankenship, 42, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 200 block of N.C. 9 and charged with assault inflicting serious injury and assault by strangulation. 

Aug. 31

Shannon Elise Garrett, 50, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 3100 block of U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired and failure to dim headlights.
