Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests as of July 20

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these incidents and arrests.

Incidents

July 13

Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia/not marijuana were reported on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70 East.

Breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering were reported on the 300 block of Genesis Circle.

Criminal damage to property was reported on the 100 block of Cherry Street.

July 14

Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest were reported on the 500 block of N.C 9.

July 16

Larceny of auto parts and accessories was reported on the 100 block of Carver Avenue.

Counterfeiting - using was reported at a business on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.

Counterfeiting - using was reported at a business on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.

Counterfeiting - using was reported at a business on the 2900 block of U.S. 70.

July 17

Financial card fraud was reported on Alpine Shadow Lane.

July 18

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 2400 block of U.S. 70.

July 19

Assault by strangulation and assault on a female were reported on Mountain View Avenue.

July 20

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 100 block of West Street.

Crime

Arrests

July 8

Jackie Alan Maynor, 33, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with being intoxicated and disruptive.

July 12

Maureen Ellen Sheehan, 51, of Black Mountain, was arrested at the intersection of North Fork Road and Hiawassee Avenue and charged with driving while impaired, reckless driving to endanger and carrying a concealed gun.

July 13

Martin Woody Bargeron, 41, of Asheville was arrested on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70 East and charged with possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Joseph Patrick Walling, 22, of Asheville, was arrested on the 100 block of West State Street and charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia and being intoxicated and disruptive.

July 14

Holly Nicole Evans, 36, of Old Fort, was arrested on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute methamphetamine, resisting public officers and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
