Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests as of June 29

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these incidents and arrests.

Incidents

June 22

Felony breaking or entering with force was reported on the 100 block of Pyfrom Drive.

Fraud was reported on the 100 block of Woodcreek Circle.

June 23

Driving while intoxicated was reported on the 500 block of Bee Tree Road.

Larceny was reported on Jane Jacobs Road.

June 24

Criminal damage to property (vandalism) was reported on the 200 block of West State Street.

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 800 block of N. Cherokee Avenue.

June 25

Possession of methamphetamine, breaking and entering, larceny, obtaining property by false pretense, possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia were reported on the 100 block of Taylor Street.

Larceny of a firearm and breaking or entering a motor vehicle were reported on the 200 block of Swannanoa Avenue.

Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported on the 100 block of Sutton Avenue.

Misdemeanor breaking or entering was reported on the 800 block of Long Branch Road.

Misdemeanor breaking or entering was reported on the 100 block of Good Loop.

June 26

An animal bite was reported on the 3100 block of Old U.S. 70 East.

Possession of cocaine was reported on N.C. 9 at the I-40 eastbound on ramp 64.

Damage to personal property was reported on the 2800 block of U.S. 70.

June 27

Larceny of a check and fraud were reported on the first block of Alpine Shadow Lane.

June 28

Felony breaking or entering - no force was reported on the 100 block of Bridgestone Road.

Larceny was reported on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70 East.

Crime

Arrests

June 17

Carl August Peterson, III, 49, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 100 block of Broadway Street and charged with driving while impaired and driving with license revoked.

June 18

Nicholas James Schindler, 21, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 4400 block of N.C. 9 and charged with resisting public officers.

June 23

Darren Lee Harbison, 30, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 600 block of West State Street and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute heroin, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule IV controlled substance, trafficking in opium or heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
