Crime report in the Swannanoa Valley

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these incidents and arrests.

Incidents

May 4

Larceny of a tag was reported on the 100 block of Mountain Crest Road.

Felony drug offense was reported on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.

May 5

Felony drug offense was reported on the 100 block of Reese Drive.

Felony drug offense was reported on the 100 block of Border Street.

An animal bite was reported on the 100 block of Taylor Street.

May 6

Felony breaking or entering was reported on the 100 block of Wards Lake Road.

May 8

Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, driving with a revoked license plate possession, no operator's license and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70.

May 9

Larceny of a motor vehicle was reported on the 1900 block of U.S. 70.

May 10

Criminal damage to property (vandalism) was reported on the 200 block of Avena Road.

Damage to personal property was reported on the 100 block of Nolan Field Lane.

Damage to personal property was reported on the 100 block of Red Road.

Arrests

April 30

Geoffrey Zane Waddell, 20, of Asheville, was arrested on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana and providing fictitious information to an officer.

May 2

Tarah Marie Saur, 37, of Asheville, was arrested on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with financial card fraud.

May 3

Kevin Scott Lung, 52, of Asheville, was arrested on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with second-degree trespassing and resisting public officers.

May 4

Zachary Dean Collins, 22, of Burnsville, was arrested at mile marker 63.5 on I-40 westbound and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
