Crime report in the Swannanoa Valley
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these incidents and arrests.
Incidents
April 20
An animal bite was reported on the 600 block of Montreat Road.
An animal bite was reported on the 100 block of Chestnut Lodge Road.
Fraud - obtaining money/property under false pretense - was reported on the 200 block of Vance Avenue.
Fraud was reported on the 800 block of Holly Avenue.
April 21
Larceny was reported on the 100 block of Morgan Street.
April 22
Larceny of medication was reported on the 900 block of Montreat Road.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 300 block of Woodland Drive.
April 23
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 100 block of Waverly Place.
Larceny and fraud were reported on the first block of Peridot Point.
Hit and run was reported at the intersection of Montreat Road and Keesler Avenue.
April 24
Larceny was reported on the 200 block of West College Street.
Breaking or entering was reported on the 100 block of North Lane.
April 25
Disorderly conduct was reported on the 700 block of Old U.S. 70.
April 26
A felony drug offense was reported on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.
Breaking and entering and larceny were reported on the 100 block of Swannanoa Avenue.
Arrests
April 15
Deneil Gregory Sharpe, 23, of Candler, was arrested at the intersection of Cragmont Road and Weaver Lane and charged with resisting public officers.
April 16
Clifford Louis Martin, Jr., 43, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 3100 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with operating a vehicle with no insurance, operating a vehicle with cancelled, revoked or suspended tag and larceny by an employee.
Sydney Leigh Rector, 18, of Ashehville, was arrested on the 100 block of Carver Avenue and charged with simple assault.
Adam Kyle Massey, 21, of Asheville, was arrested on the 100 block of Carver Avenue and charged with assault on a female.
Robert Kyle Carter, 40, of Swannanoa, was arrested at mile marker 63 on I-40 and charged with driving with license revoked - not impaired.
April 20
Bruce Edward Oliver, 59, of Asheville, was arrested on the 3000 block of U.S. 70 and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed gun, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling, place or vehicle for a controlled substance.
April 21
Leslie Anne Schmitt, 47, of Asheville, was arrested on the 100 block of Wilrecar Drive and charged with resisting public officers.
Luke Louis Fabio, 22, of Candler, was arrested on the 100 block of Wilrecar Drive and charged with resisting public officers.
