Crime report in the Swannanoa Valley
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these incidents and arrests.
Incidents
Feb. 10
Traffic offenses were reported on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.
Cruelty to animals was reported on the 100 block of Higdon Ridge Road.
Feb. 11
Credit card fraud was reported on the 200 block of Northeast Avenue.
Driving while intoxicated was reported on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.
Simple assault was reported on the 300 block of Charles Court.
Feb. 12
Shoplifting was reported at a business on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70.
Larceny was reported on the 100 block of Wilrecar Drive.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 100 block of Rich Bottom Cove.
Feb. 13
Forgery was reported on the 500 block of N.C. 9.
Identity theft was reported on the first block of Twin Chimney Road.
Feb. 15
Misdemeanor breaking or entering was reported on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 100 block of Woodcreek Circle.
Arrests
Feb. 4
Matthew Thomas McInnis, 41, of Nebo, was arrested on N.C. 9 and Blue Ridge Road and charged with resisting public officers and being intoxicated and disruptive.
Feb. 5
Roger William Tipton, 53, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 2800 block of U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired.
Marty Lee Parrott II, 24, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 400 block of West State Street and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.
Dustin Eric Stafford, 33, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 1000 block of Montreat Road for violating a domestic violence protective order.
Feb.6
Jennifer Rene Heavlow, 30, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 300 block of East State Street and charged with driving while impaired.
David Groce Ray, 61, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the first block of Penelope Street and charged with assault on a female.
Feb. 7
Jeffrey Scott Thomas, 44, of Old Fort, was arrested at the intersection of State Street and North Daugherty Street and charged with simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Erica Sophie Allen Ziller, 21, of Black Mountain, was arrested at the intersection of a State Street and North Daugherty Street and charged with simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting public officers.
Feb. 9
Anthony Wayne Layman, 39, of Asheville, was arrested on the 100 block of Montreat Road and charged with writing a worthless check.
Feb. 11
Jasmine Nicole Robinson, 28, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Stepp Street and charged with simple assault.
