Crime report in the Swannanoa Valley

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Jan. 26

Larceny was reported on the 100 block of Cragmont Road.

Felony breaking or entering with force was reported on the 100 block of Harrison Road.

A misdemeanor drug offense was reported on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.

Jan. 27

An animal bite was reported on the 100 block of Bird Creek Estates Road.

Jan. 29

Larceny of a tag was reported on the 100 block of Burning Tree Court.

Jan. 30 

Larceny of a firearm was reported on the 100 block of Vance Avenue.

Murder and non-negligent manslaughter were reported on Cement Road.

Feb. 1

Credit card/automated teller machine card fraud was reported on the 200 block of N.C. 9.

Arrests

Jan. 21

Clyde Eugene Reece, 47, of Marion, was arrested on the 2700 block of U.S. 70 and charged with possession of a marijuana less than half an ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Jan. 23

Ralph James Massey, 58, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the first block of Kappa Loop and charged with assault on a female.

Gregory Grant Dale, 54, was arrested on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with second-degree trespassing and being intoxicated and disruptive.

Jan. 25

Edwin Bruce Rodgers, 66, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 2900 block of U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired.

Jan. 26

April Dwain Smart, 45, of Hickory, was arrested on the 100 block of Second Street and charged with driving while impaired and driving with license revoked while impaired.

Michael Sterling Andersen, 31, of Asheville, was arrested on the 3000 block of U.S. 70 and charged with possession of a full container of wine, liquor or malt beverage by an unauthorized person.
