On Jan. 30, Black Mountain Police discovered the bodies of Christine Davis and Christopher Wilson inside their home on Cement Road.

The deaths of Cristi Davis and Chris Wilson, found Jan. 30 in the couple’s home on Cement Road, were the result of a murder-suicide, Black Mountain Police Department have said.

Evidence indicated Wilson shot Davis in the head before turning the gun on himself.

Officers responded to the home when the owner of the property informed them he discovered the bodies after entering the home to turn off a running faucet.

According to a police search warrant, officers found Davis and Wilson in the master bathroom of the home.

Davis died from a single gunshot wound to the head. Wilson’s death was the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, police said. EMS pronounced the pair dead on the scene.

A .40-caliber pistol was recovered near Wilson’s hand.

The two were in a relationship, according to the department, but the couple did not have a history of domestic violence.

The warrant also stated that the couple had last been seen by neighbors on Jan. 29. A Black Mountain police officer conducted a welfare check at the address on the morning of Jan. 30, according to the search warrant. He got no response when knocking on the door.
