Crime report in the Swannanoa Valley

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Oct. 20

Driving while intoxicated was reported on the 100 block of Martin Road Extension.

Oct. 23

Assault on a female was reported on the 100 block of Memorial Drive.

Oct. 24

Burglary - forcible entry was reported on Swannanoa Avenue.

Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of a Schedule Vi controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and larceny was reported on the 200 block of West College Street.

Oct. 25

Credit card fraud was reported on the 700 block of Old U.S. 70.

Possession of methamphetamine and providing fictitious information to an officer were reported on the 2900 block of U.S. 70 West.

Oct. 26

A stolen license plate was recovered on the 100 block of Montreat Road.

Larceny by trickery was reported on the 1900 block of U.S. 70.

Arrests

Oct. 17

Kathryn Rebecca Smith, 24, of Zirconia, was arrested on I-40 westbound at mile marker 63 and charged with possession of marijuana more than one-and-a-half ounces, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, carrying a concealed gun and driving while license revoked while not impaired.

Devonta Marqueres Hill, 24, of Union Mills, was arrested at the intersection of Padgettown Road and Old U.S. 70 and charged with injury to personal property and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Oct. 18

Amye Marie Cox, 33, of Asheville, was arrested at the intersection of Montreat Road and Penelope Street and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and resisting public officers.

Oct. 19

Nathaniel Thomas Davidson, 48, of Black Mountain, was arrested at the intersection of New Bern Avenue and Old U.S. 70 and charged with driving with license revoked while not impaired.

Oct. 20

Steve Lisa Brown, 55, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 2800 block of U.S. 70 and charged with simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

Oct. 21

Garrett Dale Hatch, 34, of Fletcher, was arrested on the 100 block of Montreat Road and charged with possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed gun and driving with license revoked while impaired.
