Crime report in the Swannanoa Valley
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these incidents and arrests.
Incidents
Oct. 13
A drug offense was reported on the 400 block of West State Street.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 400 block of Dennis Street.
Larceny from two motor vehicles was reported on the 100 block of Nolan Field Lane.
Oct. 14
Larceny from a motor vehicle and breaking and entering a motor vehicle were reported on the 100 block of Pine Tree Drive.
Oct. 15
Criminal damage to property was reported on the 100 block of Black Mountain Avenue.
Larceny by an employee was reported at a business on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.
Oct. 16
Larceny of campaign signs was reported on N.C. 9 at I-40 on exit 64 east.
Larceny was reported on the 100 block of West Charleston Avenue.
Shoplifting was reported at a business on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.
Oct. 17
Possessing or concealing stolen property was reported on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70 East.
Criminal damage to property was reported on the 500 block of Oconeechee Avenue.
Felony eluding arrest was reported on the 800 block of Bee Tree Road.
Oct. 18
Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a revoked plate were reported at the intersection of Montreat Road and Penelope Street.
Larceny of a motor vehicle was reported on the 2000 block of U.S. 70.
Oct. 19
Assault on a female was reported on the 100 block of Memorial Park Drive.
Arrests
Oct. 9
Jesse Christopher Vestine, 36, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 500 block of Biltmore Avenue and charged with injury to real property and misdemeanor breaking or entering.
Oct. 10
Kenneth Earl Adams, 24, of Asheville, was arrested on the 400 block of East State Street and charged with possession of heroin, simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance on prison/jail premises, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell, manufacture or distribute cocaine.
Ariel Cordelia Trcka, 30, of Asheville was arrested on the 400 block of East State Street and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.
Oct. 14
Melvin James Russell, Jr., 27, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Goldmont Street and charged with resisting public officers.
