Betty Turner Williams, 80, of Black Mountain passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017.
Mrs. Williams was born October 1, 1936 in McDowell County to the late Logan and Bertha Watson Turner. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Betty retired from Kearfott and enjoyed traveling. She was a sweet and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Oakes and Annabelle Price; and brothers, Marvin and Herbert Turner.
Betty is survived by her husband of 59 years, Fred Williams; daughter, Darlene Brank (Larry); son, Barry Williams (Paula); sister, Helen Jones; brothers, Bill and Ben Turner; grandchildren, Dustin, Matthew, Tyler, and Zach Brank, Logan Williams and Haley Smith; and great-grandchildren, Lyric, Lake, and Lyndon.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals with Rev. Brent Bolick officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
