Playing a recital of saxophone wizardry
Saxophonist extraordinaire Jacob Secor is no stranger to White Horse Black Mountain. He’s previously appeared with the The Secret Quartet and the house band for the UNC Asheville Jazz Alumni Network Annual Jam.

Now, as part of The White Horse Wednesday Jazz series, he’ll be playing with a host of special guest performers on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. The concert serves as Jacob’s senior recital as he approaches graduation from UNCA.
A Raleigh native now living in Asheville, Secor is a product of the UNCA Jazz and Contemporary Music program. There, local saxophone guru Jacob Rodrigues recruited Secor as a member of a student jazz ensemble dubbed The Secret Quartet, performing all-original compositions. He also plays sax with the popular jazz/funk outfit Window Cat.
Members of The Secret Quartet (Will Younts, Nick O’Leary, Garron Chesson) will perform with Secor, joined by featured trumpeter Justin Ray. Also on hand will be Rob Rigsby, Joseph Esposito and Window Cat.
Tickets are $10 advance/$12 door/$6 students.
