True Grass Band embraces tradition and innovation
It’s no secret that Western North Carolina is home to some of the finest bluegrass bands on the planet. Burnsville’s True Grass Band can rightfully claim a place in that company with its confident blend of tradition and innovation.

The band's hard-driving picking and close harmonies will be center stage at White Horse Black Mountain on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 8:30 p.m.
True Grass came together in 1994 as a group of players that honors traditional approaches to bluegrass, newgrass and bluegrass gospel. The current lineup on the full complement of tried and true bluegrass instrumentation includes Anthony Allen, Jeff Allan, Daniel Cook, Jacob Carroll and Daniel Norton. The band is signed to Poor Mountain Records, and its single, “Back on My Mind,” can be heard online at AirPlay Direct.
Show starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 advance/$12 door.
