Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine has said Zoe & Cloyd are “a musical collaboration that demands to be heard.”

Hailing from opposite ends of the Appalachian mountains, husband-and-wife duo Zoe & Cloyd's show is as diverse as their upbringing. They'll play a 7:30 p.m. concert Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. Tickets are $16.

Renowned fiddler and vocalist Natalya Zoe Weinstein and award-winning songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist John Cloyd Miller offer close harmonies and an easy rapport with the audience as they fill the stage with their signature Americana blend.

Trained classically in her home state of Massachusetts, Weinstein comes from a line of klezmer and jazz musicians. Miller, a 12th-generation North Carolinian, is the grandson of pioneering bluegrass fiddler Jim Shumate. Founding members of the acclaimed Americana trio Red June and long-time veterans of the Asheville music scene, the couple shifted to their duet project after the birth of their daughter in 2015.

With deep roots in American music, Zoe & Cloyd released their second full-length album, "Eyes Brand New," in April 2017. Highlighting their emotive songwriting and signature harmonies, the full-band recording showcases the breadth of Zoe & Cloyd's collective musical spirit, combining original folk, country, old-time and bluegrass with sincerity and zeal.

Zoe & Cloyd have performed at MerleFest in Wilksboro and at Massachusetts' FreshGrass Festival, where they were named first-place winners of the duo contest in 2015. The Black Mountain Center for the Arts is at 225 W. State St. Tickets can be purchased by calling 669-0930 or visiting BlackMountainArts.org or Eventbrite.
