Yellow Feather debuts album with Pisgah party


The Old Fort band Yellow Feather, featuring vocalist Casey Kristofferson, songwriter and guitarist/vocalist Hunter Begley and lap steel player Charlie Wills, will release its debut album, "And Gold," Friday, Dec. 1 by celebrating with a show at Pisgah Brewing at 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25. Taylor Martin's Song Dog open the show. Tickets are $10 advance, $12 door.

"And Gold" features drummer Herschel VanDyke and bassist Robert Parks, along with a slew of special guests. The album was recorded at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, with producer and frequent Todd Snider collaborator Rorey Carroll. It was mixed at Café Rooster Records in Nashville with sound engineer Gabe Masterson and mastered by Alex McCollough (Jim Lauderdale, Amanda Shires, Todd Snider) at True East Mastering in Nashville.

"Lucille," the first single from " And Gold," was premiered by No Depression on Nov. 14. There is a video for the track that is in the can and awaiting its premiere in advance of the record release show.
