Jimmy Landry loves his new life

Black Mountain News
Veteran singer-songwriter Jimmy Landry has good reason to feel celebratory. In 2008 he received a life-altering diagnosis of congestive heart failure and was unsure that he’d see another birthday. Yet, out of this frightening event came an affirmation of life. Every year since 2009, Landry has held a birthday party of sorts at White Horse Black Mountain with music and friends. Now in its ninth year, Jimmy Landry’s Annual Big Birthday Bash at 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7 features stellar songwriters Chuck Brodsky and Jonathan Byrd. Tickets are $15 advance/$18 door.
