“Americana,” the new exhibition at the Red House Gallery June 3 through July 17, features works celebrating this wonderful country. Cindy Chenard, a local painter, curated the show. The opening reception is 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 3.

The exhibit brings the artists at the Red House Studios and Gallery together to express feelings of patriotism during the season that begins with Memorial Day and continues through July 4. The show is sponsored by Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League.

The artists have created work from various American-themed subjects. Ann Whisenant’s watercolor of quilts hanging on a line in the sun, Bobbie Roberts’ oil of a country church in Black Mountain and Mark Harrison’s work framed in barn wood evoke or depict classically American scenes.

Parking and admission is free. For more, contact SVFALarts.org or 669-0351.
