Hotel, gallery host ‘Art on the Lawn’
Come stroll the grounds of the beautiful Monte Vista Hotel and the historic Red House Studios & Gallery Sept. 11-12 for “Art on the Lawn,” a fine art show and sale.
The event will feature original paintings, photography and unique and creative renderings from a variety of artists.
To be displayed outdoors will be multiple-sized artist prints, cards and many handcrafted and one-of-a-kind jewelry designs and sculpture.
Inside the Red House Studio & Gallery, experience the 48th Annual Juried Fine Art Exhibit sponsored by the Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League, a favorite among residents and visitors for years.
Meanwhile, inside the restaurant and lobby of the hotel next door is The NEW Horizons exhibit.
The goal of the event is to make the gallery and artist work available to everyone in Western North Carolina “and to possibly have them choose a few pieces to be a part of their new or existing art collection,” said special events coordinator Johnnie Stanfield, an artist herself.
“We would love to have someone start an art collection because they fell in love with a piece of art at the event,” she said. “Or to become an active member of our league. Or to just get inspired by the energy and creativity of those exhibiting.”
This is a rain-or-shine event.
The next Art on the Lawn outdoor art event is Oct. 23-24 among a canopy of fall leaves outside and the smell of hot apple cider inside the Red House gallery. Featured there will be the new art exhibit “Carolina.”
Parking and admission to the events, at 310 W. State St., are free.
