Sealed with a kiss, Les Femmes style
Les Femmes Mystique dance troupe and friends are saying adieu to the summer season with a festive blowout at the White Horse Black Mountain on Thursday, Sept. 3.
“Hot Summer Nights” is a sassy, sexy variety revue filled with dance and music and winking, tongue in cheek humor. Live music is provided by Black Mountain favorites The Big Deal Band, with special appearances by some of Les Femmes' spinoffs - burlesque-inspired Les Filles Charme, retro stylings from Go-Go and a medley by the Soul Train ladies, as well as Jazzy Bhangra's spicy Bollywood glitz. Expect some old-school hip-hop and a sensual solo from Lady Christine. Singing will be the seductive Alice ’n Wonderlust. DJ Bobbito Valentino (aka Zach Cooper) will spin the discs.
Les Femmes Mystique is the brainchild of dancer/dance instructor Christine Garvin, who believes that everyone can be empowered to tap into their inner rhythm as a way of bringing joy to themselves and others. Garvin describes Les Femmes’ brand of fun as “jazzy showgirl with a hint of burlesque.”
