Concert will dedicate new grand piano

The clergy and music department of St. James Episcopal Church, Black Mountain, will present a service of evening worship and concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30.
The brief Order for Compline from the Book of Common Prayer will precede the program, which is designed to introduce and dedicate the recently acquired Kawai grand piano.
Performing will be Penny Rose, director of music for the parish; her sister, Margie Johnson; Kim Hughes, soprano; and Timothy Wilds, baritone.
The half-hour concert includes music for flute and piano, piano solo, piano four-hands, organ and piano duet and vocal duo.
A reception will follow at the church, located at 424 W. State St.
