Monster Mash returns with Trunk or Treat, hayrides, music and more

Special to Black Mountain News
The 2019 Monster Mash, hosted by the Black Mountain Recreation and Parks Department, will feature music, candy, hayrides and more, when it returns, Oct. 26.

The Black Mountain Recreation and Parks department will be presenting their annual Monster Mash event this coming weekend, from 2 - 5 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 26, in the parking lot next to the recreation offices located at 304 Black Mountain Avenue.

This year's event is free and will feature plenty of candy, games, prizes and hayrides. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in their best costumes and to bring bags or buckets to collect candy.

The first 75 kids in attendance will receive a free Halloween bag and reflective bracelet.

This year’s Monster Mash will feature a Trunk or Treat that will showcase over twenty different local businesses, organizations and community groups. Participants setting up in the trunk or treat will be decorating car trunks or booths, passing out candy/coupons, and providing kids games and activities.

In addition to the trunk or treat section, this year’s Monster Mash will also feature the Black Mountain Recreation and Parks bounce house and Halloween themed music provided by Black Mountain’s own DJ Munns.

In the event of rain, the 2019 Monster Mash will be moved inside the Grey Eagle Arena located at 17 White Pine Drive in Black Mountain. For more information, please contact Black Mountain Recreation and Parks at 828-669-2052.
