"We are thrilled to once again bring to our Western North Carolina community an incredibly diverse program with 46 independent films selected from over 400 entries from around the world," said founder and director of the Twin Rivers Media Festival Carlos Steward.

With an exciting season programmed, the festival will kick off with a feature film at 8 p.m. on opening night.

Opening Night begins with the award winning "Beautiful Jinn" from director Bayram Fazli from Iran.

The festival has become the festival of choice for filmmakers and film lovers who are seeking a unique WNC high-quality cinema experience and a place to indulge their passion for film.

It connects audiences to compelling documentaries, award-winning international releases with tantalizing discussions with visiting filmmakers. This year the festival will be screening 46 films from 26 countries which also includes two selected films from WNC.

The selection process was rigorous and exclusive and only a small percentage of the submitted films are chosen to screen in the festival.

The festival continues with award-winning animation, short drama and documentaries.

Short drama starts at 11 a.m. on the second day of the festival with animation and experimental following at 2 p.m. Short drama resumes from 3 - 5 p.m. and documentaries will air from 5 - 6 p.m.

All activities at the Flood Gallery Fine Art Center are free and open to the public. Donations are encouraged to the non-profit center located at 850 Blue Ridge Rd in Black Mountain.
