Bruce Hornsby returns to Pisgah Brewing with The Noisemakers
Pisgah Brewing Co. opens its eighth Outdoor Stage concert season Friday, June 16 with Bruce Hornsby and The Noisemakers. The event also features a partnership with Amplify Concerts, a nonprofit organization utilizing concerts and events to raise funds for local charities. Pisgah Legal Services, which helps less fortunate Western North Carolina residents with legal consultation and representation, has been deemed the beneficiary for this event.
Hornsby has one of the most diverse, collaborative and adventurous careers in contemporary music. Drawing from a vast wellspring of American musical traditions, the singer/pianist/composer/bandleader has created a large and accomplished body of work and employed a vast array of stylistic approaches. Throughout this period, Hornsby has maintained the integrity, virtuosity and artistic curiosity that have been hallmarks of his work from the start.
From his longtime performances and touring with his former band, The Range, to his extensive history with his current band, The Noisemakers, Bruce Hornsby has covered the gamut of live performance in many capacities. Beyond his own groups, he has collaborated with such artists as Bob Dylan, Bonnie Rait, Don Henley, Ornette Coleman, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, and spent time as keyboardist for The Grateful Dead, which led to his inclusion in the final Grateful Dead shows at Fare Thee Well in 2015, considered the largest concert event of the modern era.
Doors open at 7 p.m. The show will open with Forlorn Strangers. Tickets are $40 advance, $45 at the door and a $70 Hopster VIP package which includes reserved seating, a guided brewery tour and tasting and more.
