For many of us, the holidays don’t feel complete without certain movies: vintage classics like “Miracle on 34th Street” and “It’s a Wonderful Life” - or more recent favorites like “A Christmas Story” with its signature line about the potential hazards of BB guns.

“Yule Shoot Yer Eye Out” slyly twists that movie's catch phrase to tag a special holiday event at the White Horse Black Mountain on Thursday, Dec. 1.  Coordinated by Matt Langston of Rock Candy Recordings and Montreat students Chloe Green and Kelly Ann Madden, partygoers can expect local food and music with special seasonal activities to adding to the fun.

The bag of goodies will be filled with musical entertainment from Montreat, Asheville, Greenville and beyond, with bands Room 27, The Rough and Tumble, Carpoolparty, Posh Hammer and In Plain Sight slated to perform. Homeslice food truck will offer hot wood-fired pizza to ward off the chill, while a make-your-own ornament table and pictures with Santa will round out the festivities.
