Ricky Edwards, 56, of Swannanoa, passed away April 28, 2017.
Ricky was born June 9, 1960 in Buncombe County to Johnny and Judy Edwards. He was employed with the Biltmore Estate in the Maintenance Department. Ricky was an avid builder and carpenter, and he loved the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Ricky is survived by his fiancé, Charlene Hipps; sons, Nathan and Matthew Edwards; special children, Ashley and Shannon Hipps; brother, Bryan Edwards; one grandson; and numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Tabernacle United Methodist Church with Rev. James Lamb officiating.
The family received friends one hour prior to the service time at the church. Flowers were accepted and appreciated. Bill Perry, 75, of Concord, formerly of Black Mountain, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017.
Mr. Perry was born August 16, 1941 in Burke County to the late Ulys Perry Sr. and Opal Dellinger Perry. He loved his family, camping, fishing, and his puppies, Charlie and Chet. Bill retired from Kearfott after 42 years and was a veteran of the US Navy. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Russell Eugene Perry.
Bill is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna Lucas Perry; children, Billy Perry (Danielle) of Swannanoa and Debbi Crisp (Gary) of Kannapolis; grandchildren, BJ Perry (Marlana), Meghan Perry, Sara Crisp, Ethan Crisp, and Kaitlyn Lambert; great-grandchildren, Ellie Perry, Maddie Perry, and Corbin Perry; sister-in-law, Sharon Primm (Kirby); and brother-in-law, Jerry Lucas.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals. The family received friends immediately following the service. Bo Gray, 60 of Swannanoa went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2017 and flies with eagles in his Heavenly Home.
Bo was born January 21, 1957 in Buncombe County to the late Clyde and Lois White Gray. He was an avid Tarheel fan and loved the mountains. Bo was a member of First Baptist Church, Swannanoa.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Donna and Shrevin Gray.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jan Ledford Gray; sister, Meeghyn Gray; special niece, Brittany Potter; special great-nephew, Bradyn Potter; aunt and uncle, Eva Nell and Howard Edmonds; and his four-legged friends, Hannah Hope, Cisco Walter, Bobcat Dylan, Itty Bitty Butterscotch, Rolleta, Rocky Raccoon, and TJ Hooker.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Swannanoa with Rev. Jeff Dowdy and Rev. Victor Walker officiating. The family received friends immediately following the service. The family requested that in honor of Bo’s love for the Carolina Tarheels, please wear a token of Carolina Blue to his service.
